About the Role
Expression of Interest – Environmental Planning and Policy Officer - 4 January 2027 to 31 July 2027
We're seeking a suitably qualified professional with a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline, and demonstrated experience in environmental planning, policy development and biodiversity management.
In this role, you will deliver planning and environmental policy outcomes, provide specialist advice on planning proposals, and support the delivery of conservation projects that protect our internationally significant natural environment.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in environmental planning and policy development.
- Strong technical knowledge of NSW planning legislation across the relevant disciplines of planning, biodiversity and land use.
- The ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes within statutory timeframes
- A passion for delivering positive environmental outcomes and solving complex environmental challenges.
What’s on offer:
- a base salary ranging from $102,118 per annum with competency-based increments up to $117,528 per annum, plus 12% super
- 70 hour, 9 day fortnight

This position in based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
